Upgrade to Geelong Kart Club Timing System Reaches the Next Stage.

Hello to all Geelong Kart Club members.  As mentioned in previous news from Dominc I would like to update on our Mylaps track timing system as of May 2023.

Over the last few months we have been working on the installation of underground cabling for two extra timing loops on the 1001 metre long track (3 sectors) also giving us one extra on the 758 metre short track (2 sectors) installing new timings loops across the bitumen.  You may notice the timing loops at canteen corner and the other at the northern end of the back straight, the distance between each loop including Start / Finish line are approximately 335 metres each, exact distance will be provided later.

Over the next couple of months we intend to install two new decoders, providing you with accurate sector times, together with track position of each kart via a track schematic or google map overlay (TBC) for qualifying and racing live on the Speedhive App.

GKC will continue to look at providing drivers, pit crew, family, friends and spectators live accurate information from the Mylaps (speedhive), whether at the circuit or anywhere in the world via the internet.

Regards

Doug Wilson - Timing and Scoring
